Local Kindy or International for Kiwi Kid in Tung Chung?

I wanted opinions on how a 2 year old Kiwi would get on placed in a local nursery (moving onto a local kindy) who has no Chinese at all. We really want him to learn the culture and language while he has such a great chance to, but don't want this to potentially beat the detriment of his English (and his happiness?). Cost is also a factor although we could stretch to pay for an international spot if this really was much more beneficial. How happy are the kids at local nurseries/kindy's when it seems to be very learning focused rather than fun focused learning (that may be a massive generalisation)? My other concern is that my son has allergies and when he was at a creche yesterday, although the teachers were informed of his allergies (to the extent that we carry an epipen with us) and we supplied his lunch, we later found out that they also gave him mcdonalds. I can't get my head around why they would do this and have been told by friends that that is 'a very Chinese thing to do'. Again, this may be a huge generalisation but would I need to have concerns about him being given foods or eating other kids foods at local nurseries? Finally, does anyone recommend one local nursery over another in Tung Chung? Thank you very much for your time!

Not too sure about nursery but my daughter went to Creative Primary School's Kindergarten in Kowloon Tong (Oxford Road). Don't confuse with other Creative kindies. They are very serious about food allergies. No bringing of food from home for sharing with other kids and so on. And when westarted K1, my daughter does not know know cantonese but she is fluent when she "graduated". They interviewed her in English and in the first few months, the teachers translated the instructions for her. They use all three languages in the classroom. I love this kindy. Do check it out.
