Hello,

My boss agreed on my departure date, which implies to shorten my notice by a few days.
However he is now threatening me to make me pay the days I should have worked for the company.

HR tells me they will deduct from my end payment.

Is this legal?

Yes it is legal. If you fail to give the required notice you are expected to recompense the other party. In other words you are buying yourself out of your contracted period.
