My husband & I are British citizens
we have lived in Hk for over 12 years ,
My husband is currently serving an 8month prison sentence in Hk , for a criminal offence
his sentence will finish at the end of next month ( feb 2015 )
He is now facing probable deportation as a result of his actions so I am desperately
seeking any advice from anyone ...
Would it be worth contesting his deportation ?
We don't have children but we own property here & don't want to leave Hong Kong
Many thanks in advance

With 12+ yr resident, if you have the HK Permanent ID, don't believe anyone be deported.

you cannot able to win the appeal due to you residence is not a permanent residence. You can try hire a lawyer and try to apeal but seems in vein.

The main gist is , why there is a risk for deportation in first place?
Who did the criminal act?

Your husband should Hv a permanent Hkid card now right ? In such case he won't get deported in any event
