Fungus/Bacteria on the wall

Dear Friends,
Has anyone of you witnessed any kind of Fungus/bacteria on the walls at home? I think it is because of the weather. It looks very ugly and also kind of smells. We tried cleaning it but again it is back. does anyone know how to deal with it/

We had the same problem. What I did was clean the affected area with a bleach solution and then paint with Dulux Gold. It is a mould resistant paint and seems to work quite well.
Just be careful when cleaning as the mould spores can cause serious health problems.

Thank you so much for your reply. But the thing is that we are only tenants and we dont wish to paint the walls. But will try the bleach solution. will any bleach work/

I used domestos bleach water down slightly. You could also use something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Anti-Mould-Kit-Mould-Spray-Fungicidal/dp/B0086LDFO8
We also bought a dehumidifier which has helped too. Maybe ask your landlord if he/she can help out although I would not hold out much hope.
