I'm leaving HK for a month, during which a friend of mine wants to stay at my place. In the tenancy contract I signed with my landlord, it states that I cannot assign, transfer, sublet or part with the possession of the Premises. Does having a non-paying guest breach this clause?
The landlord threatened me with taking away my security deposit when I asked her about subletting the place, so now I'm only letting a friend of mine stay for free. There is no definition for who is considered a 'guest', but from what I can see, the difference between tenant and guest is usually based on whether they are paying or mot, is this correct?
