picking up hk passport for kids - do they need to be there?

Hello all, we just applied for HK passport and HKID for my sons (aged 1 and 2) today.

We will move back to the UK soon, my question is will my sons need to be present when we are due to pick the passport up on June 7? Or could my husband pick it up on his own?

We applied today in person at the immigration office and they were there with us.

I called immigration and they said should be ok for my husband to pick up, but we didn't pay for it today, and apparently that information should have been printed on the receipt of the payment slip.

just wonder if someone have similar experience recently? thanks!
