Sharing my personal experience as a fellow expat because I’ve had enough!
Don’t bother renting here. There is zero soundproofing. Even the smallest noise, switches being flipped in the above unit, can be heard clearly. Water pipes, slamming doors, lift movements, you name it.
To add salt to the wound, the tenants above are absolute trash. The tenant walks in high heels everyday, 6.30am to 8am, and from 7.30pm till late (12am to 1am). Their floor is a granite slab laid on top of the hardwood floor, with zero soundproofing between the surfaces. The structural noise and palpable vibrations from these catwalks are UNBEARABLE.
Close to 50 complaints have been made to management and numerous authorities. The onsite team empathises but bureaucracy wins at the end of the day. Improvement was promised but conveniently stalled by “upper” management. Gentle warnings fell on deaf ears. Harsher warnings were retaliated by running around in high heels, at 11pm at night. 5 months of putting up with this rubbish and yet, management refuse to kick out tenants for maliciously and deliberately causing nuisance, stress to other tenants.
Do not be fooled by the large expansive views. During the last typhoon, these large windows bent with the gale, convexing and concaving all night. Granted it was a hurricane force wind but, given the rent and developer, one would expect better building quality. Many buildings in other areas never had this issue, so we are told. We were genuinely worried that it would pop open and endanger the lives of our pets.
Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.
