2 friends and I just moved into a new place in January. The agent that showed up the place, told us there would be construction on the building starting in Sept or Oct. Leaving us 10 month before anything would start. The week we moved in, the entire building was covered in bamboo, and construction began. We had also informed her, that 2 of the 3 of us, worked at night, and slept during the day. So... since the first week we moved in, there has been jack hammering all around us from 9 am until 5pm. It has gotten progressively worse, to a point where we cannot even speak to each other in our own house. What recourse do we have to file a report on the agent, and get a refund/reduction in our rent. We are currently paying 16,000 for a 650 sq foot place in fortress hill. Had I know the construction was going to happen so soon, I wouldn't have moved in here at all. Any help would be great! Thanks. Here is a link to a video clip I took of the sound.. obviously you can't get the full effect of the vibrations that are penetrating the wall, but you get the idea.
