Hey, just wondering if anyone has experience using there 6 digit HSBC card in Vietnam or Cambodia? (more worried about Cambodia). Lot of chat on-line about 6 digit pins not working in old ATM systems. I'm not overly worried, but better safe than sorry.
Just trying to work out how much cash I should take in, as I presume withdrawing from ATM machines will be the cheapest option.

We were in HCM a couple of months ago and our ATM cards worked - we used the machine in the head office in D1.

Most of the higher end restaurants and hotels take credit card so you really shouldn't need much cash anyway for the more expensive purchases.
If you need cash for every day items, just carry it on you, should be fine.

Was in Thailand for 6 months.
Make sure you visit your branch manager and have them unlock you ATM card for overseas service.
As a security measure, the machine will not allow you to do transactions unless you have it unlocked and even then, I was still locked out until I had to call their service from overseas. Was not fun at all.
