Hi,
I need to replace my phone. I want to get the Iphone 5, many of my friends tell me they got it for free with a plan, but when I go to the suggested mobile phone companies a they all tell me I have to sign a plan for 2 years, pay up front $5500 and then I will get the rebate $230 or so for 24 months.
So my question is, Is there for real a mobile phone company that can offer a plan with no upfront payment?

most of them also offer to place a charge against your credit card instead of paying cash up front - but you don't get the rebate obviously. Essentially it's an interest free loan for the duration of the plan.
btw - unless you are heavily invested into the Apple eco-system there are much better phones out there now. And this is coming from an iPhone 5 owner.
