hi everyone, id be grateful for some help with this. Getting bogged down on the internet trying to find the right answer.

My son is shortly to be working in Hong Kong and I would like to visit him on a regular basis. I understand a visa is not necessary and that I can stay for up to 180 days.

What i cant seem to find is any information on how long I must return to England before I can revisit.

Also what is deemed as an appropriate amount of money to fund myself whilst out there?

any replies would be very much appreciated. thanku

There's no requirement as to how much time you have to leave HK before coming back. Some even do a "Macau run" or "China run" where they go in the morning and back to HK in the evening and they're allowed to enter again. But of course, immigration won't allow you to do it so often and for extended periods of time. As to what the rule is, it seems to be dependent on the immigration officer handling your port entry.

If you have family here (your son), you don't need a lot of money too. Just be reasonable as to how much a "tourist" needs in HK. Usually, it's not even asked during entry.
