Hi,
I'm anxiously anticipating my move to Hong Kong in December. I am hoping to find a 1-bedroom apartment before I arrive, but am unsure if that's even possible. Does anyone know of rental agencies specifically willing to work with expats, even before arrival?
Additionally, if it's simply impossible to find a place first, any estimates on how difficult the housing market is in December? How long might it take to find an apartment?
I'm not particularly picky, I want to live within 45 minutes of Causeway Bay via public transport, have at least 250 sq feet, a decent bathroom, and inclusive electricity. Oh, and for less that 7500HKD/month. That's not impossible, right?
Any guidance or recommendations would be greatly appreciated, thanks very much.

Stay in a hotel or serviced apartment at least for the first month. If you then feel you need an apartment, start to look around. But don't rent before arriving.

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I'm just generally worried about the moving costs, and don't want to spend a month paying for a serviced apartment. I'll be in a hostel until I have a place.

It would be unlikely that anyone would rent you an apartment without a Hong Kong ID Card. Most landlords require a HK ID card in order to process the lease. Best to arrive and as other posters suggest have a look around first.
