Ticket Tout Lowlife Scum

I'm just wondering whether its worth reporting said Ticket Tout Lowlife Scum to the police or if i'm just wasting my breath?

I've just been offered, via asiaxpat, 2 top price tickets to see Man Utd for $3200. That's a mark up of over $1600!!!!!

My daughter was looking forward to seeing them as it falls on her 13th birthday but we were unable to get tickets due to these selfish, greedy, scum.

Also, what's asiaxpat's line on ticket tours using their site to peddle their inflated wares?

An event organizer once complained about scalping in our classifieds... we tried to deal with it but of course the sellers simply did not publish a price and instead when people contacted them asked for above face value...

We suggested to one organizer that they could easily solve the problem by reporting this to the police - but apparently it is not a criminal act to scalp...

So we suggested the organizer make an example of a scalper - and that we would publish this example on our site forever - by taking them to court and suing them for damages etc...

They declined to do so....

Until an organizer takes action there is nothing that can be done about this - my only suggestion is that if someone asks for more than face... do not buy the ticket...

Mmm, well, in light of the Hong Kong 7's ticket situation for next year, with there going to be even less tickets available to the general public, it seems that the only way for many to secure a ticket will be to buy from scalps! Whilst I don't agree with this, what else do the organizers suggest people do? Many of us are already members of rugby clubs, or the HKRFU, but if you have a family of more than 2, you still need more tickets than you are able to apply for through these clubs. What to do ....?

Ask who benefits? The dirty secret (according to Kid Rock, I have no idea) is apparently the artists/organisers work with scalpers, so don't buy the overpriced ticket.

If only we had a national id card with photo that people were required by law to carry at all times and which could be shown as proof of ownership of a ticket (which could only be bought against specific names). If only people wouldn't hold umbrellas aimed right at my eyes. If only drivers (including my personal fav expat women in SUVs with kids) wouldn't talk / text on phones while driving at high speeds, or would at least deign to indicate when turning.

You may say I'm a dreamer ...

You have some flaky (i can't call it what i really want to) called 'chacha' advertising at the moment who actually states "$2500 for each $990 ticket. Low ballers not welcome". You should pull the ad.

Ticket touts can be seen as scum, or can be seen as a worthwhile resource to allow us to acquire tickets.

Take for example the HK Sevens. Impossible to get tickets, but the touts come in & you can get them near the door on the day for about face value. These tickets wouldn't be on the market if these guys were not there. They would remain in the bankers pockets after the greedily grabbed as many as they could at CSFB lunches etcm, and would be wasted.

I don't particularly like the fact that touts buy online & then mark up prices. But I do LIKE it when they can give me a chance to grab a ticket, when without them I had buckleys.
