Living in West Mid Levels - Good Idea/Bad Idea?

We are new to the island.

We have narrowed down our choice to 2 apartments. One is in Azura on Seymour Road and Harbour One in Kennedy Town, near Belcher's.

Harbour One has amazing views and represents better value, but is not as well connected to transport. Azura is much better connected, but has no view. Internally there isn't much to choose. They are both new and nice. We could basically afford the worst apartment in the nicest block (Azura), or the nicest apartment in the worst block (Harbour One), although both blocks are nice.

I really wanted some advice for and against living 'way out west'. We are quite drawn to the views and value of Kennedy town, but there won't be an MTR station there for another 2 years. Should the convenience of Azura win over?

A bit more info. There are only 2 of us (myself and my partner). Primarily, we have decided that we want either brand new build, or brand new refurbishment. Some of the properties that we have seen in the difficult 3-7 year old category don't desperately need new kitchens and bathrooms, but from a cleanliness and modernity perspective, they should.

We aren't huge on the LKF kind of socialising. Prefer a nice quiet meal with friends, so we don't need to be in the heart of Soho.

From what we have seen, 1200 to 1500 square feet would be more than adequate, but we are very interested in quality over quantity when it comes to space, and location. Assuming that the efficiency is high, something around 1000 would be manageable if necessary.

The size and practicality of both the kitchen and bathroom (as well as cleanliness of both) are vital. We saw a few places today they were just too small (e.g. cupboards or fittings hidden behind doors and no room to turn around). This is important to us.

Budget is about $60k, so if anybody has any other suggestions about decent areas, that would be good. We want to be near the MTR on the Island Line. Working in Quarry Bay.

I will go for Harbour One in Kennedy Town.

1st view is the most important for myself. You can relax to have a coffee after busy work at the balcony. This is what you are living for. Instead pull out the curtain or facing to the next building.

2nd location, transportation, restaurant, are very close by. You can take taxi to IFC for dinner in very short distance. Or some local food restaurant by walking distance. Specially for the elder partner.

Hope this help to you!

Have a nice day.
