Where can I buy HK honey?

My little boy has just been diagnosed with mild asthma, and we've been advised to give him locally produced HK honey to help with his symptoms.

Please can anyone recommend where I can buy this kind of honey?

Many thanks

No idea. But why would locally produced honey be different from other honey?

I believe its because local bees pollenate local flowers so the honey they produce has traces of the local flora and has positive affects on environmentally induced asthma as well as environmentally related allergies

Perhaps Kadoorie Farm:

"I'm sure that any "domesticated Honey Bees" have long since coughed themselves to death."

really - with all this polution you would want to give your little boy local honey!! I would suggest you get the NZ one in Taste etc - there are quite a few different ones - I am sure that would be a far, far safer bet

Thank you for all responses. It is, as Lady Journalist points out, the fact that local honey may have a positive effect on his asthma symptoms - it is just another way of trying to avoid pumping him full of steriods and ventolin.

Let me know if you still want a jar of the stuff and I'll ask for the price as an old chap from our village produces the stuff from 'local bees'.

For your reference, the honey produced is fairly clear in ciolour and is quite runny.

Manuka honey is by far the best but not only for eating, it also has antiseptic and healing properties. In NZ they use it for healing burns, cuts, even animals with severe injuries get smothered in the stuff and the healing process starts immediately.

i dont want to sound cynical but when was the last time anyone saw hives in the NT?

Probably what the village geezer means by "local honey" is he buys it locally from Park and Shop before repackaging it and selling it on

Try

www.bestgrace.com

I started feeding this to my toddler when he was diagnosed with asthma like symptoms and it has helped ALOT. They will deliver to your door.

Oops, didn't finish - the product you should check out at bestgrace.com is Hive Liquid. That is most effective for asthma or asthma like symptoms.

The honey is from Zhong Shan in *China* (shudder shudder) but that is only about an hour from Hong Kong and the closest you will get to Hong Kong honey. Plus the product has passed the HKSAR government's testing. I normally don't buy anything made in China but this is one exception.

Hi Becki1975,

The Patisserie at the Hyatt Regency Shatin sells honey from Shatin. Here is the link http://hongkong.shatin.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels-hongkong-shatin/entertainment/dining_detail.jsp?itemDesc=fboutlet&itemId=1004347

They also serve locally produced honey at their breakfast buffet. I stayed there twice but have not personally tasted the honey.

Good luck!
