Anyone know the proper fee?
Do you have to pay a joining fee and what is the monthly cost?
Do you know if you can negotiate the joining fee, I heard of people not paying it but the man there today was adamant that I should pay it.

Dont pay any joining fee. The sales will want you to because they get a big cut of it. If you have a membership at another gym use that to bargain as they would like people to transfer. I think the monthly cost is from $800 to $1000 sthn but dont know anyone paying less.

I dont have all the answers but do my best. I dont think the fees are high if in fact you use the club. For the facilities and level of this club I dont think it is too bad. Of course you can go to cheaper clubs but it just depends what you want. I am not sure about the vacation hold thing. Again I think it would depend how long you were away.
Fitness First has a couple of locations on HK island, Sheung Wan and Tai Koo Shing. Am not sure if there are any others. Their locations are always in slightly strange locations.

I'm with PURE and I have to say the facilities are excellent. I pay $599 a month with no joining fee because I took out a two year contract which, if you leave HK within that time, you can transfer to a friend or someone else.

Thanks everyone. I went in and refused to pay the joining fee, they said no-go and 24 hours later phoned to say no joining fee, so its 799 per month, one year lock-in, less if you go for two years. Better get fit now!
