We need a new car stereo but I want to find someone who sells AND fits them. Any ideas and/or specific experience of someone reliable? Thanks.

I had a fantastic experience at Win K. Electronics in Mongkok right around the corner from the Flower Market. Call Sinman, her english is fantastic (grew up in Canada) at 2394-2119. Prices were excellent, service was too. Took out my std. SL500 deck and replaced it with a new SONY XPLODE in just over 1 hour. Address is G/F Shop F, 6-6A Playing Field Road. It is right accross from a car dealership, think it's Honda.

I took my car to HP Cars 2558 0222, Hamish recommended a great stereo, got it and fitted it for me which was great, because I have no idea about any of this and have been lost once too often in Mong Kok to want to even try - they have places in Sai Kung and Chai Wan

Thanks, did he come to you or did you go to his shop?

I went to his garage. I never thought of asking him to come to me - aren't there tools etc needed? Anyway I was in need of a service, so talked to him about it beforehand (so nice to talk to a westerner when you are as clueless as I am about these things!!), dropped it off on the way to work and picked it up on the way home. Couldn't have been easier no more funny noise from the engine and had great sounds all the way home!!

Eli,
Depends where you live? you can try Mandarin Car Audio in Wanchai if you are HK side. They are on Jaffe road.
You will probably get a better deal from the guys in Mong Kok as recomended by DaHKGKid
There are lots of shops and choices in Mong Kok too. goto Hak Po Street and around that area.
That way you dont get stuck with the coice of only one shops line of Audio

Yeah Christiane, you can get it done at HP Cars - 2588 0222, Hamish is an auto electrician as well as a mechanic and apparently that's what you need for car stereos.
