hi ladies,
i would like to know if anyone knows the name of medicine which can postpone the monthly menstrual period. i m having a regular period, and i will be travelling on the very day and i dont wish to spoil my xmas and the 4 days off with the pain and headache. i tried some medical stores, seems like they are not understanding whant i meant. please help...

Norcolut is available in Hong Kong. It contains Norethisterone.
You would take 5mg three times a day starting 3-4 days before your period is due. You can take it for up to 2 weeks or so until you want to have a period. Your period will normally begin 2-3 days after stopping it.
Norethisterone is normally safe to take but some women have side effects such as bloating, stomach upset, breast discomfort and reduced libido.

Have used it myself (suggested by a doctor in the UK but bought here as was cheaper), as have friends. Can attest to the bloating!
If there is time, it's a good idea to shift your earlier period rather the actual one you want to occur later... if you see what I mean.
So if you are on Week 1 and you don't want a period on Week 8, then move Week 4 period to Week 6, and Week 8 period will end up at Week 10. But I don't know if that makes any more sense...

Hey, I got the same issue but I called up the clinic they told me you got to take the medicine at middle of your biological period. Otherwise it wouldn't work.

I'm on birth control and want to delay my period one week for a vacation. But I'm worried because the instructions say there may be spotting. Has anyone ever tried this?
