Looking for reliable contractor/ House renovation

Hi All,
Do you know any reliable contractors who can do the house renovation (not big project though)? I have read a few threads here but they were posted long time ago. We would like to get new fresh experience from you guys. We are not local and we want someone who speak at least survival English to communicate with reasonable quotes. Most the contractors that we have seen couldn't speak English (needed translator) and they marked up the price a lot once they know that we are not local. They don't have any industrial standard price tags. I will appreciate if you could share your experience with us.
