Can someone tell me how I can learn more about where dogs are and are not allowed in Hong Kong? Is there any type of book "Hong Kong with Dogs"? Are dogs allowed in taxis? What about the parks, hiking trails, etc? Thank you.

Taxis: yes with $5 surcharge (although some drivers get pissy about it)

Country parks/hiking trails: of course yes

Gazetted beaches: no, but generally if not within the roped off area people don't seem to mind

Urban parks: no

Restaurants: no, but if outdoor seating is available most restaurants allow you to bring your dog

can ride on any DB ferry with a dog. Have to sit at the front...

Only ride on slow ferry with NWFF to lantau etc...

can take the dog in Victoria's garden at the Peak with its leash on to have a bit of green.. Nice garden, empty during the week.

Can you ride on the ferry to Lamma Island? I was thinking about taking my dog to Lamma this weekend and then doing the walk from one point to another. Or taking him to the Rainbow Seafood restaurant. Thank you.
