Ok, I know this is a boring question, but I really have no clue where to take a vacuum cleaner (purchased last year at Fortress) to have a frayed cord repaired! It is breaking right near the plug, so if you don't have it in the exact correct position, it turns off.
We live in the Stanley area, and I asked at Stanley Hardware but they didn't really understand; I think they thought I wanted only a new plug, and I probably need someone to cut the cord and re-attach the plug.
Thanks in advance!

jimmylee888 that is a totally HK attitude! something simple broken - throw it away! It will cost about $20 to fix the plug, but $100's to get a new vacuum cleaner. Glad you have lots of disposable income to throw away!

Thanks for the advice everyone!
I think you're right: if I buy a new plug, and cut the frayed part of the cord, we can just replace the old plug.
For some reason (maybe because we come from one of the 120volt countries!) I figured I needed an expert!
Thanks again guys.

A new plug from the h/w store will cost you <$20, and just need either pliers, wire cutters, (or an exacto will do) and a screwdriver to do this in 5 min. Good luck!

My husband had to do the same thing with our vaccuum plug.
I am sure he wouldn't mind helping you out
if you get stuck.( no charge or payback expected)
