HI,
Is anyone a member of Physical gym. They have really cheap rates ($500/6months) but you have to be referred by someone.
Can anyone help me out?

I heard it was a very "local" gym with impolite members, crowded floors etc. Yes worse than California.

I was a member there like 7 years ago so not sure what has changed since but the gym was fine. I used to go to the one in CWB. Busy? Yes. But still good especially for what you paid in membership fees, and I liked that it was modern and clean. Had no problems with it and the people there were nice. Not many expats that's true but who cares you are there for a workout.

Well I live in the NT and no California/Pure/Seaons nearby so have to get by with Physical. And youre right expatinhk I dont care about the people as long as I can workout.

I currently work out at Physical after slumming it at Cali Fitness for two years and I LOVE IT much better at Physical!!!
Sure, it can be crowded if I go at the wrong times but I had the same problem with Cali Fitness. I am sooo much more happy at Physical and can use all their locations as sometimes, I will go to Sha Tin and sometimes, CWB when I've got other things to do on HK island. I live in Sai Kung which is out of the way of everything.
My advice is go for it!! Obviously, the best thing would be to have your own gym with all you need at home so you can work out when you want and never have to deal with crowds...but this is Hong Kong.

I didn't get a referral. I just went up and talked with a salesguy who hooked me up and he was very helpful. I signed up for a year for some rediculously cheap price of like hkd$200.00 per month. I remember when I was at Cali Fitness, it was quite a bit more than that, I could only use one facility and I had to pay the full amount up front. None of this is the case with Physical.

As I mentioned in my inital posting, if you are referred by someone you can get a promotional price of $500 for 6 months membership. I want to try for 6 months to see if I'll actually use it and don't want to pay $200+ per month. Can anyone help me out?

Hey everyone, looks like I'm gonna revive this thread :) I'm new to HK and looking to try out Physical Fitness using their 3-month promotional offer (3 months for $400 HKD). The only thing is, you need a current member to refer you to get this promotion. Any members out there that can help me out? They told me all I need to do is to reference the member's "customer #". They offered me an interesting price and when I wanted to pay they changed the prices three times, with no good reason...
In the original fait price I received free towels and all, but then they said it was not possible anymore and raised the price by 10% saying it was the in house policy.
If you have a fitness first nearby (mine closed), the sales guys are way more honest.
This is not the first time I have this kind of stories about the sales guys and variable fees of Physical...
