1. Jolly good show so far

2. Can anyone remind me what the Australian National Anthem sounds like ?

3. Why are so many of the coaches so unfit and overweight ?

4. Babe of the games - Jessica Ennis (So far. Rumour is Kate Bush is appearing in the closing ceremny)

5. If Yorkshire was a country it would be above Australia in the medal table. Way above.

6. Isn't it ironic that after that US coach made all those disparaging remarks about the Chinese swimmer the only contestant kicked out for cheating so far was an American.

6. Not true nor ironic at all really. I know its hard not to post at least one anti-american comment amongst a list of six, but please at least try to get your facts straights.

The american you speak of was disqualified for marijuana consumption. Against the rules I guess, but hardly cheating or performance enhancing. Not really sure why cannabus/marijuana is tested in Olympics, seems like a waste of time. I consider smoking weed akin to drinking alcohol and not cheating or performance enhancing. No one smokes a joint to gain a competitive advantage over other athletes.

But as for contestants that DID cheat....that would Italy's Alex Schwazer. He was caught blood doping.

What has this got to do with living in, or moving to, Hong Kong?

We all know that the place used to be a British Crown Colony, but I think you will find that 99% of the population is trying to forget the past, particularly the promises that were made, and broken, about British passports.

Out of curiousity, what promise was made and broke about British Passports?

Back in the '80s there was a widespread expectation in Hong Kong that the locals would be offered UK Passports in the unlikely event (as it was then supposed) of Hong Kong being given back to the PRC.

The British honoured this expectation in a very shabby fashion. Only 80,000 or so people were granted full passports. The rest of the population were offered a so-called British National (Overseas) passport, which carried no rights to settlement in the UK.

From that point on, the British were viewed with widespread contempt amongst the population as a whole.

bodds, I found your post rather amusing except for the ill informed last point. Just trying to set the facts straight. Sorry if that bothers you.
