Best Baby Care Products

Trying to get organised for my new baby arriving, however when I look around BTB, Mothercare and Watsons I am overhelmed with the amount of different choices for baby care products.

Which would you recommend is the best/safest brand for bathing, washing, moisturising baby?

Thanks

Not saying that they are the best but have always used Johnson & Johnson on my two and plan to use on my new one!!! Especially love the Bedtime range with Lavender and Chamomile smells lovely!!

I used Johnson & Johnson when my son was born. As Suze said, I'm not suggesting they're the best but we haven't had problems with it.

Try Mustela, their products are great.

Most of the hospitals use Johnsons and Johnsons' products. You'll find your newborn doesn't really need ALL that much either - some midwives recommend a drop of soap in the water and then a bit of lotion afterwards.

I had problems with Johnsons, then moved up to Mustela which still gave me problems - and then had the best luck with Jurlique baby products. i'd start on the basic end and move up if necessary.

Both of my kids have done well with Johnson's baby wash. When they had more hair (they were both pretty bald for a long time), I used Johnson's baby shampoo and (when they were even older) the baby conditioner. Didn't use lotion for either of them. My son does have some skin problems and what works for him are Derma-e products (which are not specifically for babies).

Start with J&J and change later if you need to.

I loved using the Aromababy products on our newbie, all natural ingredients and lovely scents. You shouldn't find any allergy issues with their products, all very mild and hypoallergenic. Aromababy also has a sweet almond massage oil which is lovely for baby massage and locks in moisture after a bath.

There are a lot of postings here using J&J products, but a lot of other people don't use J&J as they (apparently) use petroleum in their products. And Mustela, while is smells nice, has many more additives and I found their products drying on my daughter. Except for their face cream, we've been using that recently (before this fog) when her face was chapping with the heaters.

My doctor told me today not to use any soap, just some baby oil in the water and to coat him in vaseline or baby oil twice a day to lock moisture in.

When my little one was born, I used Mustela and they were great - a bit on the pricey side, but lovely. I then moved to QV cos she loved to bathe and stay in the water for a long time and QV oil and wash dont have soap in their ingredients. We have also used Dermaveen (recommended by her dr) as these products have colloidal oatmeal and no soap in them either. J and J other than their Ph balance products are basically all soap. The lavender wash smells nice but it didnt help my bub sleep any better! :( All the best.
