Buying a guinea pig

Does anyone know a reputable place to buy a healthy guinea pig for a pet in HK?

Thanks so much for the comments. The shop that runs Totoro.com turned out to be wonderful. The owner, Adrian, is a real animal lover with about 70 pets of his own. He researches the latest on food and health for small animals and is extremely knowledgeable. He even specially imports food that is better for the animals than what you can usually find here.


FYI, one of his two shops is in Causeway Bay and is quite nice, called Little Pet House. It is located in the basement of the President Building, next to the WTC. (Make sure to visit the right one as the pet shop next door has animals that seem very crowded together.)


Adrian's animals are not crowded at all and seem very healthy. He has customized each habitat for the particular animal type -- and even designed special exercise wheels that he couldn't find in HK. The habitats are clean and the animals are well socialized with people. He even has two bunnies (his pets) that have free run of the shop.


He said he is very cautious about where he gets his small animals to make sure the breeders are not over-breeding or selling the animals too young.


When I called him, he actually told me to try the SPCA first to see if I could rescue an abandoned animal!! Obviously, not just pushing for a sale. I would highly recommend him.


As far as other pet shops in Causeway, I couldn't say as I didn't visit any others.
