I would be very grateful for any feedback on the above system. We are currently in the British system (under 8 boys) but do not necessarily need to to stay in that system as we do not plan to move back to Britain. On our move to Hong Kong I am tossing up between schools offering the different systems, a big decision. I know very little about the PYP program, yet! Any advice on the advantages and disadvantages of both would be appreciated.

My children are both at an international school IB PYP. We are very impressed with the inquiry based learning. The only thing to consider, and if your son is eight this may be an issue, is where you will send your child for secondary schooling. If you want to stay in IB and go onto MYP the only schools in HK are Chinese International and the new ESF at Ma On Shan! - this causes some logistic nightmares. ESF are talking about the IB diploma but that is a long way off from PYP and MYP and from my understantding they will not be offering that.
If you are intending to put your child into an IB PYP/MYP Diploma school when you return to your own country or relocate to another take the time to look at the schools which offer it.
From my understanding the only PYP schools in Hong Kong are - the HK Acadamy, Chinese International, Japanese International (English Section) at Tai Po and Kingston International in Kowloon Tong. The new Ma On Shan ESF will offer it when it opens later this year.
