If it's the ladies market your after, don't go before 12.30 during the week because nothing will be open. Actually I went there last week around 1pm and it was perfect.

Manic on the weekends.

Contrary to marypoppins experience I prefer going to Fa Yuen St well before 12 as there are fewer people and it is much more pleasurable to 'shop around'.

Weh, true, I also love Fa Yuen St I wouldn't say it's more pleasurable but you can find some great things there.

Fa Yuen Street (flower market) is in prince edward. while ladies market (lui yan gai) is in mongkok.

fa yuen street opens earlier. and there is no point in going to ladies market before midday on a weekday as nothing is open.

Fa Yuen Street is in Prince edward. you exit at prince edward mtr station, the best exit is B2. some people call this flower market (even though it doesn't sell flowers - some guide books even call it this as the chinese name of the street is flower park street)

The market that sells flowers is on flower market road and is in prince edward. if you exit at mong kok mtr station you have quite a walk ahead of you. prince edward mtr station is much closer. however if you are taking the kcr then mongkok kcr station is just as close as prince edward mtr station.

Wow, thanks guys, I really appreciate all the information. The part of the market that I'm interested in initially is for the clothes etc I'm guessing they sell DVD's CD's etc as well? so I'll take the mtr to Mongkok and follow the signs and I'll go early arvo by your advice. Thanks again to all of you for your help.

if you are after clothes, the outlet stores on either side of fa yuen street have some really great bargins. you can find clothes from gap, tommy, and all the other big american brands. however it does involve a bit of a hunt sometimes. good luck with your shopping :)

and if going by KCR Fa Yuen St is very close to Monkok station - probably closer than from MTR and under cover all the way.
