Please let me know if anyone recently applied settlement visa from Hong Kong. Need small clarification, do we need to submit resignation letter if we are working in Hong Kong at the time of application.
Thanks,
Jack

Hey,
We just got my husbands settlement visa for the UK, and we did not resign from jobs until after he got his visa.
They don't require you to resign beforehand - just think what would people do if they resigned and then were refused the visa!!!

I am newly viewing this useful webstie, and learned that a lot of useful information.
I have several questions for my case:
My family is based in Hong Kong, my husband is UK citizen, and my son is UK citizen too but born in HK. We are planned to move back to UK for my son secondary education in 2014, he is now taking primary 5, next year will be primary 6 in HK.
I need to join the family there to take care my son as my husband needs to work there to support the family.
Questions are:
1) I am holding HK SAR and BNO, am I directly apply UK Settlemnt VISA in HK? or I should apply entrance VISA?
2) Can my son apply secondary school (Year 7) in HK? does he need to attend primary school Year 6 again before apply school for Year7 in UK?
3) If I want to move to UK in 2014, what is the right timing for me to submit the application for either settlement VISA or entrance VISA?
Appreciate for the information in advance.
