Hello All,
I am currently living in Bangkok and considering a move to HK. I am trying to determine the cost of a modest lifestyle in HK (basic apartment, local food, occasional visits to expat pubs and restaurants). I am particularly keen on the opinions of anyone teaching in HK or who has previously lived and worked in Bangkok that can compare and contrast the two places.
Some of the jobs I have been looking at seem to pay in the region of 500-800,000 HK dollars a year. How far would this salary go and what would it be possible to save?

It really depends where you want to live. I would try for ESF as the package is pretty decent. I think you would be fine with living on that salary.
