Does anybody know where I can find Quark in HK? Tried Great, Olivers, City Super. No luck.

I saw it in Great couple months ago and never again. They are still selling some baking mixtures for cheese cake that ask for Quark as an ingredient but ... Hopefully somebody can help.

You can buy it at ParkNShop. It is called Fromage Frais, 0% fat and costs around 60HKD for 500gr.

I saw that on Wikipedia as well but they got the explaination completely wrong. Quark is German and has no English name. It's made from cows milk and has a thick creamy texture. Cottage Cheese is curdy and crumbly, the Fromage frais is similar but too soft. As pumpkin said it's more like yoghurt. Ricotta again is too hard. Difficult to explain. I guess each country has their specialities. It's just that quark tastes great, very low calorie and is exactly for cheese cakes. As I have seen it before I thought somebody might have found it somewhere. I guess I got to check the organic shops or just make it myself. Tks for the tips so far and if anybody stumbles across it keep me in mind.

just make it yourself, it isn't rocket science.
just need milk, (as fresh as you can find) and lemon.
we make it ourselves here at work.
do a search and you'll find an easy recipe, most important thing is you need time.
