Hi, I am a 23yr old Australian female relocating from London to HK with a job promotion. I will be visiting in March to sort accommodation and I am interested to know if the culture is like London where people house share or if the general practice is to live by yourself? I will be relocating on my own.
I appreciate the help!
Thanks
Christie

To some extent it depends upon your position, salary, and whether or not you get a housing allowance and how much it is.
I am a long way past 23, but I used to share when I was that age (in Australia, not in Hong Kong). It can be a good way to build up a circle of friends quickly.
Living on your own, especially if you are not earning much, means that you will be in a tiny flat, but then the majority of the population live in a tiny flat. I know a young woman a few years older than you who lives alone in Sheung Wan, in a pretty small flat, she loves it. Then again, she grew up in HK and speaks the lingo.
I would probably lean towards sharing, at least for a while.

If you decide to share, I would recommend finding a flat that has some people of your own age and background.
