Best Air Purifiers

Does anyone know what are the best air purifiers? I guess theoretically, since we spend most of our time indoors, the horrible air pollution outside may not be such an issue if we can at least have very clean air in our homes and offices.


Does anyone know if it's possible for an air purifier to get the air clean enough (removing not just larger particles, but also the fine particulate matter which is most dangerous to our health, as well as various gases such as ozone, sulfer dioxide, etc.)?


Seems like by now some auto manufacterer would have come up with a super-effective air purifier for cabin air. I know Toyota and some others do have cabin air filters, but they are pretty basic - they don't remove gases or fine particulate matter - the two most dangerous components of air pollution (our bodies can handle the larger particles somewhat).

Very interesting. Is this a stand-alone product, which you can move from room to room, or something that has to be professionally installed in the central air conditioning system?
