Hi,
Apologies - I'm sure you get this question all the time.
Currently seeking an apartment in HK. Preferably on the Island relatively close to Central.
I am new British expat in HK and want to ensure that I get a reasonable apartment in a good location that offers a good 'HK experience'. I am a relatively young single guy so please keep this in mind (this is not a dating application! I just want to be in amongst the action and not out on the far side of HK Island where I get the impression it is a little bit quiet! ha)
I would be very grateful if i could get some advice on the areas that I should concentrate me efforts.
Main criteria:
1. Convenience to central HK.
2. Preferably on the Island.
3. Proximity to MTR / Supermarkets / shops / bars
4. Relatively cheap rent.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Nick.

Thanks for the advice. North Point is definitely on the list of places to take a look at! :)
Depends on your definitiion of 'good HK experience'.
But you said a 'young, single British guy, so I am guessing you mean bars, restaurants, street markets, etc with fellow expats near you.
If that's the case consider Wan Chai, Sheung Wan or Happy Valley.
If you like the beach and a more hippy vibe look to Lamma Island but that would involve a ferry commute.
Start looking on it? I'm also looking for a place in north place.
