Whats it like living in HLY for expats and how do you travel by public transport to central and how long does it take? am thinking of moving there for the fresher air and peace and quiet in fact looking for anywhere with fresh air and a more peaceful environment rather than face leaving HK

I understand that the cleanest place in HK is shek o... however very difficult to find a place to rent there...

I had the same concern as you re: bad air (I had developed an allergy and had a constant hack).... when shek o didn't pan out we moved to the mountains of central bali and I split time between there and HK...

One thing that I have found really helps - we installed air purifiers in our office and I often stay at my brother's in DB which also has air purifiers... and I found that my allergy to the 'air' disappeared...

You can't control the air outside but you spent most of your time in the office or apartment so at least those environments can be controlled.

a lot of expatriates living in HLY and there is nearby Tai Wo MTR station and converience for transportation.

They have shuttle bus available from morning to night, and the bus reach Tai Po center and Tai Wo MTR station (it takes around 10 to 15 minus).

If you need travel to Central by MTR from Tai Wo station, it takes around 1 hr.

Besides, you can easy to enjoy hiking, jogging and cycling there.

many thanks, I like the idea of air purifiers as I also have developed a hacking cough which the doctor says is an allergy, the coughing is much worse on days when I have been walking along the roadside. Yes I have thought about DB and also has quick access to Central just thought my money would go further in HLY.
