Residency by descendancy?

Hi,

I'm currently studying my CertTESOL and looking at emigrating to Hong Kong to become a NET. However, I was chatting to a Australian colleague recently who said that over there you can get residency by descendancy up to one generation removed.

Well, my grandmother was born in Hong Kong, making me a quarter Chinese. I wonder, does China/Hong Kong have the same rule? It's not going to change my approach, but it might make it a lot easier to get out there in the first instance.

Thanks for reading

No worries, thanks for the unequivocal response Cara! I had suspected that this would be the case, but I thought it would be worth asking the question.
