I need to take care of my 10 yr old alone next week while my wife is away. Any ideas?

school holiday, so she has no school. Trying to arrange lots of playdates but will have to not work on other days. Wondering if there are any half-day art schools or day care centers or anything like that here?

Send your child back to your home country to spend a week with the grandparents. Airlines arrange a free escort from check-in to the meeters and greeters area at the arrivals airport where they stay with the child until such time as the nominated authorised adult collects him/her from the airport. It's putsy. My children travelled on their own like this on occasion from the age of eight and regarded this as a bit of an adventure; a plus being the time spent being spoiled by grandparents who probably rarely see the grandchild or grandchildren.
