First she asked for a face to face meeting and then asked me to send to UK?? Come on.....

I think they 'make' the payment, you send the stuff showing them receipt, then you get a meesage from your bank saying there's an issue with the processing of the payment - like the amount is too small for international transfer or something like this. This forum is littered with such scams.

I also received the same message and I was tempt to send th mobile phone when I checked this post. Please if finally you did and it was successful reply me, thanks!
As well, if no one successed I believe AsiaExpat need to control it and reject her to enter to the webpage!

But I don't understand how this scam works - seller would only ship after the funds are received, right? Wouldn't your bank be able to confirm this easily?

I got the same thing...
She was using made up confirmation by credit agricole's bank. I first googled the bank and did not see anything and shipped a HKD $200 item without checking this forum first (stupid me). She sent another email saying the bank would not send the $200+ postage fee to me because it is too low. SHe wanted to transfer $3000 to westin union and get a refund all together. That was when my alarm went on: I got robbed!

Should we notify credit agricole that their name has been used to conduct such a crime?

Now I have to report to my bank to protect my bank account details...

I think the person's real name is Joseph Valery, from Ukraine. After I told her to leave me alone, "Tatian Meyer" still provided info for transferring funds (I guess she or he was too busy scamming people and did not see my reply):

She asked me to transfer HKD$3,000 to this person. What a joke!
You would need a real name to receive money at the credit union, right?

for being a years members on this site, I traded at least 8-9 times, they are all south east Asian and local... not that I m ....they sometimes just disappear before trade.... I wasted my trip and time..

before i relocated to UK 7 years ago. I sell all my furnitures, one local guy got my fridge, and he kept ask me when will i have moving guy over . I was native , he said his arm was injured. so he made my partner to help him move on to the van...

my point is the quality of the user on here mostly is not what we are expected, also I m guessing ( assuming ) only HK site is like that , Singapore Asiaxpat is pretty good , Japan one is dead ( not much going on ) .

there are a lot of expat buy and sell / hardly worn on Facebook for trading these day , but do you want to give a personal Fb details ? ( profile pic ) to others ?

nothing we can do so does the website, but get to the point , is very annoying. waste our time that we think there;s are protential buyers .

I even said don't waste your time for scam reply. but they still send out. they are fishing for people who are stupid enough.

I got the same case too! Mailing a milk pump to the uk uaing speedpost! The person didnt reply any of my email again and i got no money from him! Luckily, my milk pump is checked by customs, and he needs to pay for the tax! Of course, he wont pick that up! So i am requesting to get back my pump from postoffice! Buti loat $300 postage fee!

I just checked the internet finding that the UK police actually got a department attacking scam and fraud! There is an online form to fill in! We actually got the guy‘s real name and address! Will he be caught if the form is filled in?

Email contents are like:
"Thanks for your response.Am interested in buying.How long have you owned it?? what's your actual price for it?.If possible, could you send me some recent pictures?"

"Thanks for your response.Am satisfied with the condition Okay good due to my work as relocation consultant the total amount i will be paying into your Bank account without any delay, .If you have one already, just send me the address to send it to, which is the email address you use for it or you can send me Bank account , so once i receive the details i will go ahead with the payment through Bank account and then i will contact my shipping company after you get the payment. I will need your home address for the merchandise to be Picked Up by the Shipping Company."

And then you will start seeing words like "Western Union". So...end of conversation.

I too am dealing now with this same Roger?Amy?Joseph trying to sell an item posted on AE for a PNG native item same scenario same replies. I have stated to them will post upon receipt of funds, packaged insured, with speed post HK. now waiting reply. How can they hack into my bank account sometimes HSBC staff treats me like some type of a criminal trying to access my own A/C.
