Are expats who raise their children here selfish or just nuts

Well, are they?
I am not talking about high net worth individuals who can afford to pay for private education and healthcare and who live in affluent areas with lots of recreational space.

Nor I am referring to expats who come from developing countries that have even worse public services and living conditions than HK.

No I am talking about the middle earners - people with a household income of less than 60 K a month - who are citizens of countries with advanced economies and who put their kids through the poor quality, highly competitive govt funded services.
Are these people selfish?

The public school kids look suicidal while the crowded public hospitals are vomit and pathogen infested holes. You get what you pay for : As a percentage of GDP HK has the lowest spend on education and healthcare of any developed society.

I haven’t talked about the air quality or housing conditions for this cohort. I don’t need to. Likewise I don’t need to mention the lack of social mobility and opportunities or the obscene and overt inequality that exists here. Just the necessary family services they have to depend on the HKSAR govt for is enough to make me ask this question.
