Subletting in Hong Kong

Hi all,

I will be arriving in Hong Kong in about a month to begin working at a prep school. Unfortunately, my work visa had a few issues and I have to gain a TEFL certification before I can officially begin work, although I plan to arrive in Hong Kong early to move in with my friend who initially had essentially the same exact work period I did.

Given this, is there any way that any of you know in which I could live with her on a leased apartment (she will have a HK ID) until my work visa is cleared and I get my own? Would a landlord be okay with one party signing off on the apartment and then adding a second tenant to the same lease the following month? Does anyone have any related experience?
