Shared custody agreements in HKG

I would like to hear from anyone that is sharing custody with their ex partner on how they've decided on visitation and short stays with the father. Baby is only 1 year old and sees the father a lot but now that she's getting older, I'd like to have some sort of structure in place.

We were never married and prefer to keep lawyers out of this. While I'm very happy that he's actively involved in her life and encourage them spending time together, I want to make sure that from emotional and developmental point of view there is a balance in her life and secure sense of "home".


If you've been in this situation, please share the structure you've agreed on with your ex. Where I'm from, these things are fairly straight forward and most parents follow the same guidelines but it seems here in Hong Kong people tend to get lawyers and councelors in place to decide these things for them.
