My child was born in Hong kong few months ago, did not get 3 stars on the ID card. Do have "Right to abroad" but without the stars. I want to ask does my child get free education in Hong Kong?

3 stars are only on adult ID cards, not children's. Any child who is a resident in HK is eligible for public school education, including those whose parents are on employment visas. The only exception is those whose parents are on study visa.

Free education would be at public schools where main language is Cantonese. Nothing wrong with that, but most expats prefer the western method of teaching. Am quite sure you won't get free ESF schooling. Let me know if you do!

If you are PR then no problem. Even if you are not he can still go to a local school. All you need to pay for is books. My son is P3 now, haven't paid a penny from K1.
