We are Malaysian and also PR in HK. My daughter has just turned 18 this year and we found out that she has been selected for national service in Malaysia.


She is currently a Year 1 student studying medicine in HKU.


Does anyone know whether we can get an exemption from National Service. I can't seem to find anything to that effect.


If my daughter gives up the Malaysia Passport, can she apply for a Hong Kong Passport and is there any complications later on?


Any information is much appreciated.

Thank you so much. I thought the postponement only applies to those studying upper 6 and not university students. Do you know when should I submit the form? I have not received anything from them yet. I found out through the website.
