We just signed a temp lease for a unit at Beverly Hill Happy Valley. Then another agent told us that Beverly Hill is going to have building renovation soon, with all windows covered and dust and noise. We cannot reach the management office at this moment. Any one happens to live in that complex and please let us know if this is true and how soon the building renovation will begin? If it is true, our agent didn't tell us, could we break the lease? We have not signed a formal lease yet, just a temp lease with a month deposit. Thanks a lot!

My friend was caught in the same situation. She screamed and yelled and got her money back. It would have been hell as it took over a year of unbearable level of noise AND DUST, which entered even with windows closed, even entered inside her desktop computer which she had to open and vacuum.
The other friend who did not know, moved in to find out the situation, yelled at the landlord and got a lot reduced from her lease.
I would threaten to sue at small claims court for agent having lied, or not told you the facts, if you could prove that the agent did know about it.

My bf lives there. He says the talking of renovation has started 5 years ago, but still no sign of starting yet. No one could know for sure that when the renovation will start. It is a nice place to live tho. good luck!
