I bought a copy of a movie at a bargain store and want to copy it to DVD on my VHS/DVD Panasonic. It is copyrighted and won't let me copy it. The movie is not available on DVD and I want to perserve it. Anybody know a solution?

I gather from your post that you still have the VHS player. I've not done it myself but the setup should be something like this:

1. Play the VHS tape in your VHS player. The VHS player output is not your TV or AV receiver but into an "input" in a player/recorder which in turn is connected to your TV/monitor.

2. While playing the VHS tape, record it in the player/recorder. Usually newer machines can do this. But apparently, you need to have the correct cables and stuff that are setup/connected properly.

I thought they call this real time recording. I hope that points you to the right direction. If it doesn't work, just look for some shop that can do it for you.

You can see the idea of how to use Grex with DVD/VCR combos here:

I'm doing it with my Sony RDR VX520.

Definitely the next round of such products would be HD protection remover.

Are there any news about such device?
