We watched a free demo of the Rainbow Vacuum Cleaner and it does seem to be a very effective product. It comes with an almost HKD20k price tag (which I understand to be much more than what they'd sell it for in the USA, where it's originally made). Has anyone bought this product in Hong Kong? Do you feel it offers good value for the money?

I use a rainbow vacuum cleaner ( paid 16k for it 10 years ago).

Love it... When you start using it and see how much dust there is in mattresses and sofas, you will appreciate it. I also use to run it to clean the air with some pine essence in, very efficient.

I know it's expensive but worth every penny when having allergic children in the household.

Not sure it's much cheaper than in the US, you can find it online but most of the time, they are second hand ones.

I also got one recently and for the mattress cleaning it is worth it, you can really see how dirty everything is. The price is really a killer and if you consider that you might not use t for mattress cleaning too often then the price is too high..... The machine is also very loud which I realized only lateron when I wanted to use it as an air purifier while I was AT home. Can't stand the noise so I can also NOT use it for vaccuum cleaning while my baby is sleeping.


I would recommend you to check for alternatives first, somehing I failed to do.

About 3 yrs ago, I got an Osim which is also powerful, costs $5000, extract a lot of dirt from mattress etc. BUT, the Maintenance Contract is around $1000 per year. If a manufacturer slaps this on, that means they don't expect the machine to be repair-free.


Wondering how much is the Rainbow's maintenance contract ? If that's so steep upfront, it'd better LAST. One way of telling if it's durable at all is the price of the maintenance contract. ASK before buying.
