How to transfer a warranty?

We are thinking about selling an appliance that still have a decent length warranty on it. (Purchased in Hong Kong.) We would like the new owners to have the assurance of the warranty.

If we sell it, how can we transfer the warranty to the new owners, without divulging personal information (which is on the receipt)?
