hello!im a domestic helper here and i have a outstanding big unpaid loan in lending company i cant paid it coz my cousin dont have money to pay to make shorter i loan a money for may cousin but now she cant pay it anymore and the collector always call me but cousin willing to pay just now she has a big problem on money!!what should i do is this affect my working visa?do immigration can canceled my visa?what should the lending company going to do to me!!im so scared about this!!thank you hope can help me some advice

Firstly promise urself ur not going to do these things again. Many helpers are stuck in a similar situation like yours weather it's a loan or phone bills


Regarding your problem how much is the loan and what was the original payment terms

Since this is under your name you are responsible for the payment


I suggest u talk to the collector and make a reasonable payment plan back to them until your loan is cleared if u continue to ignore they will arrange a site visit to ur working address also if u decide to skip they might pass to their overseas agent in ur home country and chase u there


The sooner you can resolve this matter the better for you. Talk to your cousin and see how much can she contribute to this mess. But keep in mind that since her name is not on the agreement you are liable and cannot force her to pay


Try to handle the situation before your employer finds out otherwise if they feel disturbed or threatened. By the collector they might terminate u

your loan does NOT affect your visa. great's advice is wrong.


however the consequences of your loan, i.e debt collectors coming to your employers home and your employer letting you go, could mean that you will need to leave hong kong
