I HATE party bags with a passion, however i do like to give kids a little something for coming. So any ideas as to what to give a bunch of 7 years olds as a thank you without spending a lot of money.
Thanks

not a fan of party bags either...I don't like the bits and pieces of useless things that either get broken or eaten (don't like all the extra sugar either) or unused.
I always do one NICER single gift - a paperback book, a box of crayons, or cool glitter pens or markers. My daughter went to a party recently and came away with two pretty hairpins. I was very happy with it as a gift. (she was too.) I think a cool art based supply (they have lots of really neato sparkly pens and stuff that younger kids might get into) or a smaller quality gift is always nice. You don't have to spend a lot either - Toys Club often has books on sale - sometimes it's buy 3 get the 4th off.

I think complete Deelite do individual shortbread shapes (hearts and stars) on a stick with the childs name in icing on them. They look really lovely and are something a bit different.

If they are 7 how about doing an acivity at the party like decorating a wooden photo frame (from IKEA) lots of beads available in shamshuipo craft shops with that uhu glue and they can take it home as their party gift. OR I get white bags made up from a small tailor in Stanley and the kids decorate them with fabric pens. Just need a supply of magazines or newspaper to fold in half and slip inside to prevent it going through and some good pictures to trace around from a colouring book or off the internet. They like doing this - even the boys. PM if you want details . I sometimes even get 20 of the bags made up and then give them as a present (to girls)with a set of nice fabric markers. You could also do it with plain white t-shirts - I just prefer the bags or plain white pillow cases since then no one asks to wear it all the time!

Also if the party has a theme what about something along that line. A swimming party we went to they all got a huge rubber ring (bought cheaply from the toy shops over in Fa Yuen Street) and since they were blown up already te kids used them at the party to do hundreds of silly games... relays, covering people up with them, rolling them etc. A swimming noodle might be good also? Sometimes the boys come home with a soccer ball (cheap gold ones). Can never have too many balls. Kids club also have those twirtly ribbon things for around $35 that girls like to do rythmic gymnastics with - or a skipping rope / hoola hoop.
