Has anybody heard of or tried Dr. CK Sum of "Health & Joy Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic" for acupuncture?

Will be undergoing IVF and want to try acupuncture to increase chance as well and have picked up his name as someone I could try.

Any recommendations or otherwise would be much appreciated.

Hi,

I've seen him but not combined with IVF, i did get preggy after a few sessions only. He used to be the assistant of Troy Sing. He is not expensive though, around $350??? not sure of the price but definetely a lot lot cheaper than Troy.

Thanks honeypie.

Dr Sum seems to be quite specialist in the fertility area and whilst a lot of people have seen Troy Sing. I haven't heard that he has any specialty the area of fertility - I may be wrong, but I thought Troy Sing was more of a generalist. Does anybody know? Also, any idea how much Troy Sing charges just as comparison?

Anybody done acupuncture for support treatment for IVF and know how many sessions are necessary/recommended?

Muimuichi,

Troy "specialty" is also for fertility, i've seen him before and i got preggy after 6 months of treatments from him. (was trying for 8 years). If money is not an issue for me, i will definetely see him again for #2, but with his fee now, i think around $800-1000 per visit, i opted for Dr. Sum, good thing i got lucky again.

Most girls here combined IVF with acupuncture.

Good Luck!

After 3 m/c, I started seeing Troy and got pregnant after 6 months. I now have a 6 week old daughter. I would definitely be seeing Troy for #2. He charges HK$800 per visit for just accupuncture - if you need herbs it will be close to $1,000.

I've seen both at a start and found that Troy's team is more professional and caring. Troy is more knowledgeable and I keep on seeing him now for my 3rd cycle.

SaPig - when people are giving genuine advice, telling them they are hardselling is not nice. It puts people off recommending good doctors in this forum.

I have been to a few places for accupuncture and have to agree with Sabrina TO & Havefaith that Troy seems to be the most professional and caring. He has this computer that does an analysis of your body to identify areas that need particular attention. But personally, I am totally scared of needles and electric currents, so I only go a need basis now. I have heard that accupuncture does enhance IVF results. Good luck
