Hi Ladies,
Just wondering, my husband and i are 11/12 weeks pregnant and have decided to have a C-section
(medical reasons). Our due date is the 19th of January. Do people usually schedule their C-section 2 weeks before? Anybody able to give me any info? So i check-in two weeks before on the day i have my C-section? The doc said the 5th but i wanted the 4th and doc said no probs. Does this make the baby kind of premature? We are first-timers so we both didn't even know about the two week difference, we thought we would go in when i have contractions. Can anyone please share some C-section experiences with me?

after 36 weeks, a baby is considered safe to come out. In cases of some complications where the mother has a medical reason for having a baby early, most doctors wait until the 36 week mark has passed.
If you do have a c-section, 1 one day difference isn't going to be a big deal. My c-section (which was an emergency) happened just before 37 weeks - baby spent a bit of time in NICU, but all was well over all.
ELECTIVE c-sections - doctors like to schedule well in advances of contractions - actual labor complicates c-sections - and you would technically be an "emergency" c-section instead of an elective. So two weeks earlier is generally the norm. You won't have to experience labor in other words - which is one of the many reasons why some women elect to have c-sections.
